That's the message some politicians and environmentalists are giving to Bruce Power which wants to ship nearly two tonnes of radiation-laced steel through the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River. Bruce Power is seeking a license to ship low-level radioactive generators from its plant on Lake Huron to Sweden. Sarnia mayor Mike Bradley has signed a petition to stop the shipment, which would see the waste travel through his city in September. But Bruce Power official Murray Elston says if a person stood within a couple of metres of one of the generators for two hours they would get radiation levels similar to a chest X-ray.
